The art of buying with peace of mind.
Buying a second home in Spain deserves more thought than an impulse purchase. We take the time to listen, offer considered advice without pressure, and work only for you, never for the seller. On this page, you can get to know us and discover how we work.

Sandra Lohuis, Founder
A lover of Spain who believed there had to be a better way.
La Via Nova grew out of listening to the experiences of friends and people around me. I had been visiting Spain for years and knew quite a few people who wanted to buy a home there. I began to hear how confusing that search could be: estate agents who mainly represented the seller, who didn’t listen, who showed clients properties far beyond their budget, and other experiences along those lines.
And then I thought: surely there could—no, there had to—be a better way? Why not start the search in the Netherlands? I come to your home so we can get to know each other. I put together a carefully chosen shortlist of properties that genuinely fit: in your preferred location, within your budget and suited to your needs, whether you’re looking for a house, an investment or an apartment.
"I believed there had to be a better way. More personal. More honest. More transparent. With people at the heart of it and guidance every step of the way. With someone you can always turn to."
Before entering the Spanish property sector, Sandra sailed through Europe and the Caribbean and worked in Mallorca and Tenerife. Her career took her from hospitality to management consulting and property styling. That combination of international experience, a down-to-earth outlook, personal attention and a structured approach remains at the heart of how she works.
Four principles. One promise.
Independent
We work for you, not for a developer. With no exclusive ties, we can search the entire market on your behalf—not just the properties that earn us the most.
A personal approach
One dedicated point of contact—your own Project Manager—from our first conversation to long after you receive the keys. To us, you are never a case number. You are someone we know personally.
Your local network
Our own network of Dutch-speaking lawyers, tax advisers and mortgage advisers, personally selected and trusted over many years. So you always have support, even when you consult them directly.
Transparency
Buying a home in Spain is a big step. That is why we agree clear expectations from our very first conversation. With personal guidance, complete transparency and no surprises, you can make the right choices with peace of mind.

And afterwards...
With a resale property, the keys are often handed over within just a few weeks of the purchase.
If you buy a new-build home, it may take several months, or sometimes up to a year, before the property is ready for handover. Throughout that time, we remain your point of contact. We keep you updated on construction progress, let you know about key milestones and support you through to the final handover of your home and keys.
Your interests always come first

Shall we have a chat?
An initial conversation is a chance to get to know each other. We’ll explore your wishes, plans and options, so we can see whether we’re the right fit and how we can best support you.
